Anniversary · May 15

One year of the booking system — thank you, Club Gilmore.

A year ago, finding a booking meant emailing a club attendant and hoping the slot was still open. The system was manual, the booking types were limited, and an enormous amount of work fell on the shoulders of the club attendants. Today, we book online — in our own time — across more than 50 spaces and ten amenity categories. That didn't happen by accident.

📝 How we got here
A short story of the past twelve months.
Before May 2025
Manual everything
Residents emailed the club attendants to check availability and book a slot. Few booking types were offered, because the entire system — calendars, conflicts, hand-offs — ran on people. It worked, but it asked a lot of the club attendants every single day.
May 15, 2025
The booking system goes live
Online bookings open up. Residents start reserving directly. The catalogue grows steadily through the year — large amenities, small amenities, study booths, guest suites, outdoor firepits, sky lounge sessions and more.
May 2026 — today
A building that books itself
A year on, we're booking around 48 amenities a day across the building, with 1,196 active resident units — and the staff still get to focus on hosting residents instead of chasing schedules.
🏆 A few thank-yous
None of this happens without the people behind it.

Special recognition
Matthew Quickenden
Matthew has been instrumental in analyzing booking capacity and designing the booking patterns that shape how the building actually gets used. He also built the interim solutions — HTML pages, Excel trackers — that kept the wheels turning while the bigger picture came together, and continues to push for ongoing policy improvements that make the booking experience fairer and easier for everyone. Thank you, Matthew.

✅ Hosting Tips
Make the most of your guests' stay.
  • 🏠
Match the suite to the group. 501 (Family) for 4+ guests, 407 if your guest needs accessibility, others for 1–3 people.
  • 🏠
Plan the rest of the visit. Book complementary amenities (Bowling, Theatre, Sky Lounge, Outdoor BBQ) for the same dates.
  • 🧹
Sanitization is included. A standard sanitization fee covers thorough cleaning between stays — you don't have to coordinate it.
  • 📅
Stays are typically 1–3 nights. Booking 4+ nights? Choose the Family suite or check availability earlier.
🔥 Peak Demand Periods
Plan around these — suites fill up fastest in these windows.
Holidays

All 9 suites have been booked simultaneously on multiple holiday weekends — the building hits full capacity.
Weekend Pattern
Friday & Saturday Nights
Most stays span Fri/Sat. Mid-week (Mon–Wed) consistently has the most availability.
School Breaks
Spring + Summer Breaks
Family suites (and most others) book up 4–6 weeks before March, July, and August school breaks.
🏆 The Tower Podium
Towers ranked by how many per-amenity champion titles their residents hold.
🥇🥈🥉 Medal Tally — Gold, Silver & Bronze by Tower
Olympic-style breakdown counting 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers across all amenities. The full picture of tower depth.
How this works: We tally up the per-amenity champions from the Resident Records page and group them by tower. The tower with the most champion titles wins gold — bragging rights only, no prize money!
🏅️ Building-Wide Top Bookers — The Podium
The four most active residents across the whole building. Anonymous — could one of them be you?
⭐ Per-Amenity Champions
The most active booker for each room. No names — just titles, badges, and bragging rights.
How records are tracked: These are real counts pulled from booking history, but resident identities are kept private. Each title goes to the unit with the most confirmed bookings for that amenity. Want a title of your own? Just keep booking the spaces you love.
